Did You Know: Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper Plans To Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions By 70% In The Year 2050

stephen_harper.jpg In a recent speech at the G-something or other porkfest or for want of a better word … the 33rd G8 SUMMIT, CANADA’s Prime Minister STEPHEN HARPER eloquently stated on supposedly behalf of all Canadians and to quote:

“And, let me be clear, Canada’s long-term target of a 60 to 70% reduction of 2006 emissions by 2050 is consistent with cutting global greenhouse gas emissions by half over 1990 levels – a goal sought by the European Union.”

Is it just me or ….

Is it just me or .. does it seem odd to you that a politician in a minority Canadian Government who could be gone quicker than you could say “Kim Campbell” is making plans for the year 2050?

Can we really afford to ignore global warming and reducing greenhouse gas emissions until the year 2050?
